There will be turnaround in countrys growth prospect: FM Rejects S&P downgrade


Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has expressed confidence that there will be a turnaround in countrys growth prospects in the coming months. Mr Mukherjee rejected ratings agency Standard and Poor’s claim that India could be the first BRIC economy to lose investment-grade rating.

Sensex ends down by 51 points on S&P warning

Snapping a five day rally, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange dropped 51 points, or 0.3 percent, to 16,668 on Monday, on profit-booking by investors, and after rating agency, Standard & Poor�s cautioned that India could lose its investment grade rating.The Sensex had gained 754 points in the last five trading sessions.
