Indo-Pak talks resume on co-operation in counter terror efforts

India and Pakistan today resumed two-day talks on cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts, including the prosecution of those responsible for the 2008 terror Mumbai attacks, and the introduction of a new relaxed visa regime.An Indian delegation led by Home Secretary R K Singh met a Pakistani team led by Interior Secretary Khwaja Siddique are holding talks at a hotel about 70 km from Islamabad. Before the beginning of the talks, the Indian delegation called on Interior Minister Rehman Malik and discussed a wide range of issues, officials said.
New legislation soon to empower Persons With Disabilities in line with UN Convention

The Government is soon to come up with a new legislation for empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, PWDs, in harmony with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Diabilities, UNCRPD. Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Mukul Wasnik stated this in a message which was read out at the inaugural function of a national conference on livelihoods for persons with disabilities in New Delhi today.

The Planning Commission has constituted an expert group headed by noted Economist C.Rangarajan to review the Tendulkar Committee methodology for estimating poverty.Minister of State for Planning Ashwani Kumar told reporters yesterday that the expert group is expected to submit its report in 7-9 months.
