AI crises deepens, 25 more pilots sacked


The crisis in Air India has deepened with the airline management sacking 25 more pilots and asking the Director General, Civil Aviation, to cancel licences of 11 dismissed office bearers of the Indian Pilots Guild after over 200 striking pilots refused to return to work. The total number of pilots who have been dismissed since their agitation started on Tuesday has gone up to 71.

The country’s industrial production declined 3.5 per cent in March 2012, mainly on account of contraction in manufacturing and mining output. Growth in factory output, as measured by the Index of Industrial Production, had stood at 9.4 per cent in March last year.

3 LeT men arrested in J&K Sarpanch murder case

In Jammu and Kashmir, police arrested three Lashkar-e-Taiba activists and achieved a major success in cracking murder case of a Sarpanch of Panchayat Halqa Hawoora in Kulgam district who was killed in February last.
